Frequently asked questions
I know that reaching out for counselling isn’t always easy. If you’re unsure or have any questions, you’re very welcome to get in touch. I also offer a free 20-minute call so you can see if working together feels right for you.
This is just a relaxed, informal chat. I’ll ask a little about what’s bringing you to therapy and what you’d like support with, and I’ll explain how I work. You’re welcome to ask me anything too. There’s no pressure to make a decision—it’s simply a chance to see if you feel comfortable with me.
Sessions are typically 50 minutes and can take place weekly or fortnightly, either in person or online. I offer a calm, supportive space where you can explore whatever feels important to you, at a pace that feels right for you.
This really depends on you and what you’re looking for. I offer both short-term and longer-term therapy. We can agree on a set number of sessions or keep things open-ended, and we’ll check in regularly to make sure it’s working for you.
Standard 50-minute session: £65
Concession 50-minute session: £45
I offer a limited number of lower-cost sessions for counselling students and those on income-related benefits.
Therapy works best when sessions are consistent, especially at the start. If you do need to cancel, I ask for at least 48 hours’ notice.
Before we start, I’ll send over some paperwork, including a counselling agreement and a short form to complete. In our first session, we’ll go through everything together, and I’ll ask some questions to get a better understanding of you and what you’d like to work on, so we can begin in a way that feels right.
I offer face-to-face sessions in SW12, SW16 and SW17, as well as online sessions.
